Out with the old, in with the new!

We are acutely aware of the ever-changing demands and continuously strive to reverse-engineer the needs of the working world into our content and approach. Old school just isn’t cutting it anymore, and we’re making sure that young people are prepared for what lies ahead for them.

Welcome to Sri Emas

OUR APPROACH IS SIMPLE

WE LOOK AT THE FUTURE...

AND REVERSE-ENGINEER IT INTO OUR CLASSES

SO THAT OUR KIDS ARE READY & FUTURE PROOF

Rethinking School

What is the purpose of education anyway?

Answers may differ from person to person. But in short, the purpose of a school education is to set children up for a successful future, wouldn’t you agree?

That's why, in everything we do, we do it to unleash the greatness within the child

Going beyond just teaching,
we're tackling the root cause of the education system!

Traditional Bell Curve

In the traditional bell curve, only 16% of students are considered “high achievers”, while 68% are termed “average”. We believe this is a misconception. The way we see it, one of the key reasons why only 16% are excelling is because old school rote learning only suits a small percentage of the population.

Our Bell Curve

We’re practitioners of the ACE Method, where efficient and engaging learning strategies such as simulations, games and presentations are essential in our education system. By transforming the way education is delivered and incorporating how most students learn best, we’re immediately able to “shift the bell curve” and move students from Average to High Performance.

HERE'S HOW WE DO IT IN SRI EMAS

EVERY SURFACE IS A CANVAS
Who says lessons have to be confined in classrooms? The same four walls for 8 hours a day can be stifling. We like getting creative with our learning: sitting, standing, in the corridors, on the floors, in the labs, out at the water park! Every space is a learning space and every surface is a canvas for learning! This is especially great for visual and kinaesthetic learners.
PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION

REVERSE ENGINEERING
As educators, we continue to educate ourselves on where the future is heading and tweak our delivery to nurture future-proof skills such as self-discipline, adaptability, initiative, cognitive flexibility, and decision-making. This way, we know we’re always preparing students for their future.
YOUNG PEOPLE PASSIONATE ABOUT EDUCATION
Most of our teachers are young, and unapologetically so! Being young and passionate about education, our teachers can connect and relate to our students as their role models. It’s not unusual to see teachers and students hanging out together during breaks. The boundaries are still clear of course, and this mutual respect enhances learning in the classroom as teachers are in a better position to guide and coach students to progress.
KEEPING IT RELEVANT
As a student, did you ever wonder why you were learning something, only to realise its use later in life? When we teach, we like to give our students the big-picture view of what they are learning. Imagine this: A teacher takes his class on a jog through the corridors, telling them to pay attention to the sensations they feel as they slow down or take the corners. This leads to discussions of the concepts of Momentum and Inertia in Physics, how it applies in their lives and beyond. We acknowledge that students have the innate curiosity to learn, we just have to harness that and make what they’re learning relevant.
TRAINED TO FIT OUR TEACHING STYLE
All our teachers go through our very own ACE EdVenture Training Programme that has been developed in-house. The training derived from the success we’ve had in impacting students for past 20 years and flows from our founders’ teaching experience
THROWING OUT THE BOX
“Think outside the box”. We hear that all the time. Well, we’ve gone ahead and thrown out that box". We are constantly thinking up new ways to get students excited and engaged about topics. A lot of these ideas are implemented in class coursework. Coursework has been a staple of our approach since the beginning. Sell your castles for History, choreograph Hip Hop for Physics, it goes on! The coursework we create challenges our students’ understanding and instils cross-subject and cross-skilled learning.

PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION

We push our students to grow beyond their limitations!

Expecting perfection of them is unrealistic. Instead, we strive for progress. We stand by our students through their journey with us, giving them feedback and the opportunity to upgrade their work. Whether it’s an improvement from a D to C, or A to A*, every win is worth celebrating with our students.

Don’t just take our word for it,
hear what our parents have to say about Sri Emas!

Sri Emas was the first school we visited when we were looking for schools for our kids
"We were impressed by the students, the way they greeted us, their confidence and their expressiveness. The school focuses on more than just pure academia. They look to build soft skills and the character of the students, preparing them to be ahead of their peers even before they join the workforce"

- Dato Thong & Janice. Parents of Julian (2017 alumnus) and Justin (Year 8)
What impressed us about Sri Emas were the teachers. They had the dedication, passion, and they enjoy teaching.
"Through Sri Emas, we did see a change in our children. They were more excited about what happened in school, had a genuine interest in learning and always wanted to go to school."

-Patrick & Min, parents of Laura (2016 Alumnus) and Adam (Year 10)
